Yeah....beach day!

Now we are getting the idea....time to hit the beach.
Still not quite swimming weather...but hey blue skies beats being cold in Melbourne!

Granite Island

Trish keeps killing time by doing lots of outings.

This day was a walk around Granite Island!   She needs to chill!

Some scenic photo opportunities with rock formations and the likes.
    Have a look.

Even managed to get Trish in a selfie...lol!

Pt Elliot YHA-home away from home.

Port Elliot YHA...ready to stay put and enjoy the beach...time to chillax!!
I'll have to be very quiet...Trish hasn't paid for me to stay here.
 What a view!

Great YHA!!....clean, friendly staff and brilliant location!
Not many photos here....Trish had to sneak me in!

Day trip to Strathalbyn!

Trish said it was too cold to go swimming.
So we went to Strathalbyn and strolled through the park.....just a walk in the park!
Strathalbyn is a person's antique dream place..... good to look at but no purchases for Trish!
Trish found a lovely spot for lunch and enjoyed a real chai....her favourite hot drink with hot soy milk.

Monday 6th Jan

The weekend arrived and went....
Met so many lovely people on my travels. Met a family from Sweden who Trish got on with like a house on fire and was invited to stay with if she ever went travelling os. She also met a walking buddy who she got along really well with. They have all moved on with their travels and now it's time to chill.
We visited Victor Harbour and walked around Granite Island. Highlight was riding the horse drawn tram across the bridge! Even got a picture with the conductor...ok I need to show you a photo when I get to upload them...

Travelled on the Cockle Train to Goolwa to check out the market even had a photo taken with the train driver...I think I made his day as he couldn't stop raving about me to the ticket lady!...lol
Trish seems to be finally,...chilling... drinking two bottles of a local red.... watching DVDs.... as the weather was a bit foul on the Sunday....with her new found friends. Not sure how her head was this morning.
Probably that's why she had bacon and eggs for breakfast...lol!
Anyway, off to Strathalbyn to check out this old town and grab me some grub.
'bye for now

More travelling news

More rain....dark skies leaving Mt Gambier...rain...rain...more rain.
Onwards forwards through the Coorong National Park on the Princes Hwy.

Driving through Kingston to say 'hello' to the BIG lobster!

Highlight? ....taking the barge at Wellington to cross the Murray River.

Trish ate so many jelly babies to keep her 'sugarated'! Oh boy..oh boy! I think she was shaking when we finally arrived at Pt Elliot!

884kms later we finally arrived at our destination.
Some good choice of music was had like Cat Empire, Artic Monkeys, Go Ape, Lourde, Narcotic Thrust, Husky, Empire of the Sun, Ed Sheran, ELO and the likes...
No more driving for a while. Time to rest and chillax!
Can't seem to upload photos..will have to find a way around that....some time soonish..

Here we GO!

I was so excited and I kept asking Trish...'Are we there yet?'
She just turned the music up louder and started singing!
Doh!

1st Jan left Melbourne under a dark sky. But hey I'm on an adventure...rain..long roads 435kms later arrived at Mt Gambier to a warm welcome from Natalie and her boys, Kairangi and Zinzan.

We checked out the Blue Lake, Valley Lake and spotted some kangaroos..said hello to my fellow kind..visited the sunken garden..

                                      Drizzle...drizzle.
Had a great night in prime position watching the boys car race.
2nd Jan morning exercise for Trish walking around the Blue Lake with our host.
Time for 'bye-'byes and back on the road to Pt Elliot.
Our holiday awaits.
